The Santa Fe District Attorney said Wednesday that a Santa Fe police officer who shot a 77 year-old man earlier this month won't be charged.
Officer Robert Laramie thought that Robert Dominguez was a burglar, when in reality Domiguez was a caretaker of the home that Laramie was investigating.
Laramie said Domiguez pointed a gun a him and refused to respond to his commands. Laramie shot Dominguez twice in the torso.
Dominguez remains in the hospital in serious condition. Officer Laramie was on leave but has since been reinstated.
