On Good Friday, hundreds of faithful walk from Santa Fe to the Santuario De Chimayo, which many believe has healing powers.

Our Chris Ramirez is in Chimayo talking to the faithful - and he found a man who is dedicating his trek to a special girl KOB told you about a few weeks ago.

Gadi Schwartz told us about Karleen Zetina, a West Mesa High School senior who is battling brain cancer.

Amazingly, Zetina has spent much of her limited time encouraging her classmates to make the most of their high school experience and education. She inspired many others by earning her diploma early, despite four surgeries and a tumor growing in her brain.

On Good Friday, Ramirez found a friend of hers, Angelo, who told Ramirez he made the 18-hour walk to Chimayo for Zetina and her family.

“I wanted to do this for her and her family, she’s been through a lot more than what this walk has been for me,” he said.
