Bryce Alford will follow his father Steve Alford who took the head coaching position at UCLA.
Alford stunned the Lobo nation on Saturday when he announced he was leaving New Mexico and the Lobos for California and the Bruins.
University of New Mexico athletic director Paul Krebs announced Bryce will be released from his national letter of intent.
Alford set the state’s single season scoring record this past season while playing for La Cueva High School and has gone on record to say that his dream has always been to play for his dad.
Steve Alford’s son Kory, who is on the Lobos’ roster, will also follow his father to UCLA.
