The principal and dean of students at an APS middle school are on paid administrative leave after one of their students disappeared. The administrators suspended the student, and as of Tuesday night, no one knew where the 11-year-old boy was.
According to APS, six students at Jimmy Carter Middle School in Northwest Albuquerque were suspended for smoking marijuana. One of those students was Jeremiah Baca. As of Tuesday morning, officials didn’t know where Baca was or if the administrators followed policy when allowing Baca to walk off campus.
"The administration is required to make contact with the parent or guardian to make sure they've been informed that the student has in fact been suspended," said APS spokeswoman Monica Armenta.
The Albuquerque Police Department entered Baca’s information into a database for missing children. Call APD if you can help locate Jeremiah Baca.
