UPDATE: State Police: Blue Hole device not a threat

Santa Rosa police and New Mexico State Police remain on-scene in Santa Rosa investigating a suspicious device.

The State Police bomb squad found an "incendiary device” near the Blue Hole of Santa Rosa on Wednesday, but tell KOB the device is not a threat and has been defused.

The device was discovered by a photographer who was taking pictures in the area and came across what he thought might be something explosive in the water.

State Police and Santa Rosa Police evacuated the area.

The Blue Hole is a natural, bell-shaped pool is that is 80 feet deep and is a particular attraction for divers from around the world.
