SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico legislators have chosen six people to serve on the board of directors for the state's new Health Insurance Exchange.
The legislators announced their appointments Friday. Gov. Susana Martinez has yet to name her appointments to the 13-member board.
The state superintendent of insurance also is on the board but will vote only to break ties.
New Mexico Health Connections CEO Martin Hickey and Nor-Lea General Hospital CEO David Shaw were among those chosen by legislators.
The others include Roosevelt General Hospital CEO Larry Leaming, Easter Seals El Mirador chief operating officer Patsy Romero, Futures for Children CEO Teresa Gomez and Jason Sandel, vice chairman of the New Mexico Medical Insurance Pool.
The exchange is to serve as a marketplace for the uninsured to buy medical coverage.
