Fire burns 3 acres in northern New Mexico

Fire crews in northern New Mexico are cleaning up the remains of a small fire that burned in Rio Arriba County overnight.

The three acre bosque fire burned Saturday north of Velarde, NM, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

Its cause is still undermined.

Crews from the BLM, Carson and Santa Fe National Forests are working in conjunction with local firefighters to mop up the burn area.

The fire was first reported around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
