It was a busy Saturday night when Albuquerque police said someone started shooting.
Albuquerque police officers spent Sunday investigating the shooting at the Copa Cabana Night Club, 4100 Central Avenue SE, trying to figure out how one man ended up dead and another woman shot in the stomach.
Police have not identified the man shot.
Copa Cabana is where people go to dance and have a good time. But blood-stained cement made it evident what happened there overnight.
A man who lives nearby said, he's not too surprised by what he heard.
"They're constantly having trouble here with the police having to come break up fights," David Anderson said. "They had marked shell casings and there's obviously blood on the sidewalk. I would like to see this place dubbed a public nuisance and then be closed down."
As of Sunday evening, attempts for KOB Eyewitness News 4 to get ahold of a manager at Copa Cabana were unsuccessful.
One person has been taken in for questioning, police said, but APD has not named any suspects as of Sunday evening.
