CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - An 18-year-old man is facing battery charges after authorities say he threw his urine at an Eddy County Detention officer.
The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports that Anthony Duran was arrested this week on two counts of battery on a peace officer for the alleged urine attack in February.
According to authorities, Duran threw a small cup full of his urine at Detention Officer Thomas Lardie while Duran was being detained for another charge. The urine reportedly missed Lardie's eyes and mouth but was enough to wet his uniform.
A police report says days later Duran simultaneously hit three cups of urine lined up at Lardie during a routine cell check.
Lardie says Duran laughed after both assaults. It was unclear if Duran had an attorney.
