The National Weather Service says dry and windy conditions will lead to high fire danger Tuesday in New Mexico.
Because of the conditions, the weather service has issued a Red Flag Warning from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Red flag conditions mean that weather conditions are ripe for a catastrophic fire.
The warning affects all of Bernalillo County, including the Sandia and Manzano mountains.
Winds will be from the Southwest, averaging between 25 to 40 miles per hour and gusting up from 45 to 55 mph.
No open burning is permitted and people are to use caution with any open flame or spark-producing equipment. Smoking materials should be disposed of in appropriate containers.
