A Santa Fe man, who goes by the name of “El Dentista”, is behind bars Monday after police said he was practicing dentistry out of his car.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned Eliver Kestler hasn’t had a license to practice in more than five years.
Police said Kestler worked out of his small, red Chevrolet sedan. Police don’t know how many people he treated.
Kestler’s business cards were in Spanish and he offered several services, such as teeth cleanings, filings, extractions and crowns.
Police arrested Kestler on Saturday after an undercover officer arranged to meet with him. Police got a tip earlier this month from a customer who got two crowns and a false tooth from Kestler for $200.
Kestler told police he had a license to practice in Mexico but not in the U.S.
Kestler faces charges including conspiracy to practice without a license.
