Chama River Brewing Company is just one of dozens of local breweries taking part in more than 67 events that make up "ABQ Beer Week."
Thursday, they're busy getting ready for a beer and dinner pairing event.
The expansion of beer week is just one indicator of the growing craft beer industry in Albuquerque. Justin Hamilton, who's been brewing for 8 years, says he's seen some big changes happening.
"From where it started to where it is now is an absolute leap and a jump," Hamilton said. "It's amazing to see the industry grow this much not only on a national scale but locally."
In March, legislators even passed SB81, a bill meant to help microbreweries in New Mexico by raising the limit on barrels produced to be considered a microbrewery, and, consequently, get the related tax benefits from $5,000 to $15,000.
ABQ Beer Week starts Thursday, April 25 and lasts for 9 days.
