The city of Albuquerque's Environmental Health Department's Air Quality Division is issuing a health alert Thursday for those with respiratory conditions due to blowing dust caused by high winds.
The alert went into affect at 3:30 p.m. and will continue until midnight, according to a release from the city.
People who may be senstive to blowing dust, such as those with asthma or chronic bronchitis, are encouraged to stay indoors. Children and older adults may also be affected by the dust.
