SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Weather caused minor hiccups for the opening day of United Express' service from Santa Fe to Denver.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports snow in Colorado and high winds in New Mexico delayed afternoon flights Wednesday along the route.
The twice-a-day service was announced in December.
Santa Fe Councilwoman Rebecca Wurzburger says she hopes the new service will increase tourism in the city. She says it will help bring new jobs to Santa Fe.
Wurzburger, Mayor David Coss, New Mexico Secretary of Economic Development John Barela, and other officials were on hand Wednesday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch the service.
A United Express official says while the airline doesn't know what the future holds, he believes it will be a very good market for the company.
