The Pentagon's plan to close a space program at Kirtland Air  Force Base is getting some push back.

The operationally responsive space office develops small satellites for the military and employs about 100 people.

The Pentagon wants a California base to absorb the program.

Both Sen. Tom Udall and Sen. Martin Heinrich say the closure is not justified.
