ANTHONY, N.M. (AP) - Two fugitives wanted on drug trafficking and other charges that stem from a roundup along the New Mexico-Texas border have been taken into custody.

FBI spokesman Frank Fisher identified the fugitives on Thursday as 49-year-old Martin Nevarez of Anthony and 43-year-old Victor Alvarez of Las Cruces.

On Wednesday, authorities arrested 22 of the 29 people charged in numerous criminal complaints with distributing cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana in and around southern Dona Ana County.

Two of those charged were already in state custody. Three are still fugitives.

Federal authorities say a total of seven search warrants were executed during the raids, and 20 weapons, 3 kilograms of cocaine, 2 pounds of marijuana and $35,000 in cash was seized.

The raids followed an intensive four-month multi-agency investigation.
