Below is our story from our noon newscast.
Police say Wednesday evening a man forced a five year old girl into his car then let her out just feet away on Indian School near Rio Grande. That girl's mother chased him in her car all the way to Kathryn and Ortiz in Southeast Albuquerque, where she rammed into his car.
He ran away on foot and police launched a search, sending 40 officers door to door and launching a helicopter with heat-sensor cameras. Police continue to search Thursday, asking anyone who could have tips to call in.
They say the description of the suspect-- Native American or Hispanic, 5'10"-6' tall and in his mid-20s-- fits the description of a man who sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl last week. They do not yet know if the cases are connected.
Police say the 5-year-old girl is doing okay. They believe the girl and her family did not know the abductor.
