A full closure of the bosque in Sandoval, Valencia and Socorro Counties was announced Wednesday by the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District.
The closure was instituted due to continued drought conditions in the area as well as increased fire danger.
The closure means no visitors will be allowed in any bosque that is owned and managed by the district.
The closure goes into effect as of 8:00 Wednesday evening. It joins a list of restrictions in the area that have already gone into effect.
Bernalillo County and the city of Albuquerque are in a Stage 2 restriction, and Corrales is restricted to trails west of the clear ditch. The bosque treed area in Corrales is closed.
More information on the closure can be found at www.mrgcd.com.
