ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A Farmington man has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison in a drug and firearms case.
Prosecutors say 40-year-old Lindsey Joe Brown II also was sentenced Monday to five years of supervised release.
Brown was indicted in March 2012 and charged with participation in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and using a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
He was arrested in April 2012 and pleaded guilty to the charges three months ago.
Authorities say Brown tried to sell methamphetamine in San Juan County in October 2011 to a person who was working as an informant.
Brown's vehicle was later searched and authorities reported finding more than 200 grams of meth, a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol and ammunition.
