Two years ago, an El Rancho couple and their son were brutally murdered. It's a case New Mexico State Police consider their most important unresolved investigation, and family members are still pleading for answers.

Lloyd Ortiz, his wife Dixie and their son, 21-year-old Steven, were all found dead at their home north of Santa Fe in June 2011. Autopsy reports showed they died from head injuries and investigators discovered a bloody pick axe near the scene.

But even with these leads, state police still have not named any suspects.

"(The case) is actively being worked and we continue to follow-up on every and any tip or lead brought to our attention," Sgt. Emmanuel T. Gutierrez of NMSP said. "We are using every investigative technique and tool available to solve this murder and we are working with other law enforcement agencies to further the investigation."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Santa Fe Crime Stoppers tip line at (505)-955-5050.
