The state's largest burning wildfire has grown by 12,000 acres since Friday.

The Silver Fire has now burned more than 56,000 acres and firefighters expect it to grow larger Saturday.

The fire is 20 percent contained.

Meanwhile, residents near the Thompson Ridge Fire burning near the Valles Caldera are meeting with officials Saturday night.

Residents are being briefed on what to expect during the final burnout operations.
