A rollover crash in Roosevelt County took the life of a 13-year-old boy on Tuesday.
According to Capt. Jimmy Glascock of the New Mexico State Police, a suburban navigating a curve on US 60 near 84 east veered off the roadway after 4 p.m. The driver overcorrected and rolled several times.
Glascock reports a 13-year-old passenger not wearing a seatbelt was ejected during the crash. He died at the scene.
The driver, 44-year-old Mona Cleveland of Albuquerque, was airlifted from the scene. The woman’s 2-year-old daughter and another 13-year-old passenger were taken to Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
All three were later airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas with serious injuries.
Police suspect speed as a factor in the crash.
