New Mexico oficials lifted fire restrictions for the Lincoln, Santa Fe and parts of the Cibola National Forest on Friday morning.
With rain in the forecast over the next few days, some restrictions for the Sandias could be lifted as well.
Shawn Bennett of the National Weather Service is closely monitoring the situation and says things are looking good.
“The fire situation has improved tremendously. For now, we're definitely in a more moist weather pattern," Bennett said.
While the fire danger is still high, meteorologists keep in constant contact with the Forest Service by making routine conference calls in respect to smoke and other activity regarding wildfires.
With thunderstorms popping up throughout the Land of Enchantment, it's not a matter of if, but when, the fire restrictions will be rescinded.
