ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The cost of Lobo men's basketball tickets are going up.
The University of New Mexico says it's adding a $1 surcharge to each ticket for season ticket holders.
For single-game tickets, the surcharge will be $2.
The extra revenue will go specifically toward the payment of UNM's debt service for renovating The Pit.
Athletic Director Paul Krebs says the arena has always served as a tremendous home-court advantage.
He pointed to the Lobos winning 28 of their last 30 home games.
The university says men's basketball has finished in the top 25 in attendance in each of the past 47 years, or every year of The Pit's existence.
Last year, New Mexico averaged 15,022 fans, and The Pit was sold out six times.
