Levi Chavez was found not guilty Tuesday of murdering his wife Tera in 2007.
Chavez is the former Albuquerque Police Department officer accused of killing his wife and then attempting to make her death look like a suicide in 2007.
The trial lasted about five weeks, with jurors hearing 300 pieces of evidence and testimony from 42 witnesses, including Chavez's mistresses, experts and Chavez himself.
The twelve-person jury, made up of nine women and three men, had to agree unanimously to reach the verdict.
