Bank of America confirmed to KOB Eyewitness News 4 that 11 branches throughout the state have been sold to Washington Federal.

The company put the locations up for sale as part of a restructuring plan.

"At the end of the day, this decision benefits our current employees and the communities they serve," wrote T.J. Crawford, a Bank of America representative. "Selling these locations, as opposed to closing them outright, preserves jobs and ensures a brick-and-mortar banking presence in town."

According to a Seattle Times article, Washington Federal will offer jobs to Bank of America employees affected by the buyout.

The transition is expected to be finalized at the end of the year.
