The storm left quite a mess in Bernalillo.

KOB Eyewitness News Chopper 4 flew over the area as crews spent all day pumping water from people's yards. KOB learned about 30 homes had about a foot of water around them, and it looks like rain and debris is to blame for causing a 25 foot hole in a ditch bank.

"I'm totally flooded," said Maria Gonzales, who woke up to find her yard covered in water.

Under that water is Gonzales' front yard and drive way but on Friday, it looked more like a lake. "I can't get into my yard. It's coming up to right here so it's pretty deep," added Gonzales.

A broken ditch bank is to blame. Heavy rains and debris made a 25 foot hole in the ditch bank.

"It came down very quickly and very fast and overwhelmed the drainage system throughout this entire area," said Sandoval County Fire Department Chief James Maxon.

Crews spent Friday pumping out water from people's yards and fixing the broken ditch bank. Luckily, the homes in the area are raised, which Chief Maxon said is a good thing because none of the homes got water damage inside.

"I looked out the road and I see water coming down," said Epi Lovato, whose front yard was flooded.
