A lot of phone calls and emails came in to KOB Eyewitness News 4’s newsroom from PNM customers who still don’t have power Monday night, but their situations are a little different. They said they have medical issues and want to know what they can do to get their power back.
Helpless is how some PNM customers are feeling Monday. KOB has received dozens of calls from viewers who said they need power to survive for medical reasons.
But many don’t know that PNM has a way to help. You just have to let them know. “We try to prioritize those. Move those up to the front end of the list so to speak,” said Aubrey Johnson with PNM.
PNM has a hotline (1-888-DIAL PNM) for you to call but it’s just for those in serious need. So far, they’ve received only a couple calls. “I did get a call specifically about a person who was having brain surgery today and would be released from the hospital so trying to make sure that they had power and they were able to get care,” added Johnson. That man got his power back Sunday.
For everyone, power is expected to be up and running fully by Tuesday. “I know it’s been very, very trying on them so we certainly apologize for them being out of service but we’re doing our very best to get them back as quickly as we can,” said Johnson.
