What used to be someone's dream home is now falling to pieces.
A home in Farmington has been abandoned for several years and neighbors are tired of its weeds and the vandals it attracts.
"It is an eyesore and not good for property values," said neighbor Julie Wilkey.
Overgrown weeds, broken windows and a bad foundation have made this house in Farmington far from someone's dream home.
According to neighbors, the original owner of the house died several years ago. Sometime after that neighbors said it sold at an auction, but nothing's been done with it.
And it's not just ugly, neighbors say it's dangerous.
"It’s pretty unstable from what I’ve heard. I’ve see a broken window and a rock being thrown at it," said neighbor Jennifer Johnson.
Signs are posted all over the house, but that doesn't stop people from breaking in.
"My husband and my younger daughter were still up and he saw a truck in the driveway and came up and saw some people in the backyard and he called the police and he went out and yelled at them that they called police," said Wilkey.
Neighbors say they're tired of seeing it this way, so run down.
"I’d like to see it put back together and have a family living in there."
KOB Eyewitness News 4 contacted the city to see what is being done about the house. They said code compliance is expected to pay a visit today or tomorrow.
