People served by a well near Coors and Powers Way are beyond frustrated.
They've gotten trickling water, dripping water and often, no water at all, for days on end. They also heard no word on a permanent solution until today.
The Public Regulation Commission held a meeting today with NM Waterworks owners Buddy Romero and Dan Serrano, prospective owner Henry Coors and concerned resident Christina Cervantes to discuss problems.
Last year there were problems with the water because the owner was not paying his PNM bill. This year, he says there are mechanical and electrical issues to fix.
The PRC hopes to facilitate a transfer of ownership from Romero and Serrano to Coors, who owns other wells in the area.
"There will be some legal issues that still need to be ironed out, a few different agencies dealing with this - it's gonna take some time, but I think we're on the right track," PRC spokesman Arthur Bishop said.
Cervantes says she supports the move, but knows it will take a while. In the meantime, she knows what she wants.
"Dan Serrano to be fixing this system more and putting more effort into fixing – that's his responsibility, he has residents living there with no water. My reaction is that he does not care," Cervantes said.
