Several loyal ladies were at the Sunport waiting for someone whom they’ve never met to come through the doors, but it’s someone whom they see as one of their own.
Hiltrud Ridenour and Dot Bossard, members of the Blue Star Moms, were there waiting with open arms.
The Blue Star Moms know personally what it means to have a son or daughter deployed in harm's way.
Dot said that all they want to do is show their support.
"We're here for them while they're deployed and when they come home," Dot said.
It's something that Vietnam Vet Larry Seely values and wishes he had when he came back to the states.
"It is important. It gets emotional sometimes, but we vowed what happened to us will never happen to these guys," Seely stated.
They were waiting for Master at Arms Petty Officer First Class Brannon Porch, who had been serving our country in Afghanistan and now returns to his firefighting and paramedic duties.
"I am undeserving of it, but I'm floored, very honored," Porch said while holding his daughter Kayla who simply knows him as "Daddy".
Welcome home, Brannon, and until everyone comes home, the moms will be here, waiting for all their sons and daughters to return.
