Two suspected serial burglars have been caught. Albuquerque Police say they have been hitting homes in the Northeast Heights for months.
25-year-old Kyle Avery and 26-year-old Adam Aragon are both facing charges for receiving or transferring stolen property.
Janice Dudley says she is one of their victims. She says they stole her laptop that had some of the last photos and videos of her daughter before she died of cancer in 2010.
Janice got the computer back from Internet Express, a business that buys and sells used electronics. Owner Steve Perea bought it without knowing it was stolen. He returned it to Janice, but the laptop had been restored to factory settings, meaning all the memories were gone.
"These people don't have any idea what they're stealing," Janice Dudley said. "They think whatever we take the insurance company is going to take care of but that's not the case and in most cases when people get robbed. It's memories, you know? And they can't be replaced."
Police say Aragon has sold more than 240 items to just one pawn shop in the past several months.
