Some students in the Four Corners are celebrating a big win tonight.

Piedra Vista will have to make more room in their trophy case. The school recently received the New Mexico Activities Association Directors Cup.

The award is given to the school who receives the most points for participation in the activities association's sanction programs.

Schools also get points for wins in district and state tournaments.

"It’s the championship of all championships. This is what we work for. This is why we do what we do for the kids. We're their inspiration, their motivations. That's what brings out the best in these kids, to promote our community, our school," said Kelly Thur, Athletic Director.

This is the first time Piedra Vista has won the cup. For the last two years, Piedra Vista has come in third.  Big wins in things like wrestling, softball, bowling and choir helped them bring in the points this year.

But the award is something for all students participating in school activates to be excited about.

"It’s actually really exciting," said Ashley Harris, member of the Pantera dance team.

And the Pantera dancers are hoping for another big win.

"I’m hoping that were going to win state. We've waited many years. I think it’s our year to take it," said Ashley Montoya.
