US 285 was shutdown all Monday during an investigation into an officer involved shooting.

ROSWELL -- New Mexico State Police have released the names of the officers involved in a shootout that killed a man on US 285 near Roswell on Monday.
State police Sgt. Lawrence Murray, a 21-year veteran, was shot in the leg during the incident. Chavez County deputy Albert Padilla and state police officer Genaro Gaytan were also involved in the shooting.
The incident began Monday morning when 30-year-old Christoval Quintana would not pull over for a state police officer on US 285. A pursuit ensued down the highway until Quintana's vehicle hit stop sticks near Chickasaw Road.
According to state police, Quintana began shooting at officers and hit Sgt. Murray in the leg. The officers returned fire, killing Quintana.
State police Sgt. Emmanuel Gutierrez said the investigation is still active and ongoing.
