After years of planning, the new animal shelter in Farmington is finally a reality.

"It’s going to be larger, it's a state of the art facility," SAID Amber Francisco of the Farmington Animal Shelter.

But before the animals can make their big move from their old building, the shelter needs some help.

The animal shelter is asking the community to donate crates to help them move the animals to the new shelter. They need 150 crates to comfortably move all the animals.

"We’re moving all of our animals in one day. It’s going to be a lot of stress on the animals," Francisco said.

“To get ready for the move, the Farmington Animal Shelter is trying to get as many animals adopted as possible so they don't have to move them to the new facility."

The shelter has reduced the price of adoptions to $39 for all animals.

Normally puppies start at $100 and kittens start at $70.

"With the 39 dollars they're going to be spayed and neutered before you take them home, they're going to be micro chipped and they're going to have their first set of shots," said Francisco.

Yesterday the shelter adopted out six animals, but with a constant intake of new ones, they need all the help they can get.

The animal shelter is running heir reduced price special until November 13.

They plan to move all the animals the next day.
