With a permit, a tree may be cut from most areas within the Lincoln National Forest, but not from a "wilderness" or designated "closed" area. When submitting your application, please identify the area that you plan to harvest your tree from. If you are uncertain about the types of trees in the area, view our guide, "Common Tree Types" to help you with your choice. The guide is available on the website listed above. Please practice good stewardship - make sure that your Christmas tree is harvested from US Forest Service lands, as shown on the map that accompanies the permit. Last day to cut a tree is Dec. 24.
