In Baltimore, a development company has just learned the hard way when it comes to conducting pre-construction and permit application inspections. After careful review, the Environmental Protection Agency has rejected its development plan on the grounds that the inspection didn't meet environmental standards. That means going back to the drawing board for this Baltimore construction firm to reassess the property and develop a new proposal.
The problems cited included improper sampling technique and poor instrument calibration, rendering many of the results from the environmental sampling questionable. The company will need to redo and resubmit if it wants to continue with development plans, adding time and expense to an already costly process.
