Fast and easy work in No. 23 New Mexico’s 88-52 season opening win against Alabama A&M.
New Mexico jumped into a quick 10-0 lead and held Alabama A&M scoreless for the opening three minutes in the first half.
The Lobos showed a quick, relentless shooting offense anchored by 11 points from Kendall Williams to help give the Lobos a 45-26 lead into halftime.
Head coach Craig Neal showed off his bench distributing minutes for 11 different Lobos.
Alabama A&M, outmatched in nearly every way possible, has seen nine different UNM players score a basket. Alex Kirk and Cameron Bairstow each have 8 points and 2 blocked shots.
As a team UNM has 7 blocked shots and 24 rebounds.
In an efficient 13 minutes, Hugh Greenwood has 5 points, 2 assists and 1 steal.
