New Mexico won it's sixth straight against New Mexico State on the Aggies home court, 79-70 Wednesday night.
Kendall Williams and Cameron Bairstow combined to score 44 points for the Lobos (6-1), who have won 11 out of the last 12 games in the Rio Grande Rivalry.
New Mexico State (7-3) could not benefit from early foul trouble that benched New Mexico's center Alex Kirk most of the first half.
Bairstow and freshman center Obij Aget handled the Aggies 7-foot-5 center Sim Bhullar in Kirk's absence to give New Mexico a 39-29 lead into halftime.
Due to the decreased minutes, Kirk did not post a double double for the first time this season. The big man finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds.
Bairstow scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Williams had 24 points and was 10-15 from the free throw line.
Bhullar was limited to 5 points, but he did record 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
New Mexico State was led with 16 points by Daniel Mullings and 15 points from Renaldo Dixon off the bench.
