Albuquerque basketball fans are in for a treat.

Cincinnati (7-0) will start a tough road test against New Mexico (6-1) in front of a packed Albuquerque crowd at the Pit on Saturday.

The Bearcats traveled to the Duke City for their first road game this season on a Gulfstream V business jet, according to post on Instagram by senior guard Sean Kilpatrick. The Bearcats will then play at Villanova on Dec. 17.

Kilpatrick is a sharp shooter with 19.7 points per game this season. His teammate this summer on the USA Men’s World University Team has averaged a double double on the season for the Lobos.

Alex Kirk (19.1 PPG, 11 REB) leads the top scoring trio in college basketball, rounded out by Cameron Bairstow (19.1 PPG) and Kendall Williams (20.4 PPG).

Williams, listed on the 26 player try-out for the USA team, has 24 and 28 points in his last two games for New Mexico. Bairstow led Australia with 22 points and 9 rebounds in a win against team USA this summer.

On Wednesday, the Lobos won their first true road game 79-70 in Las Cruces against rival New Mexico State. Any angry plastic bottles must be tossed into Washington as the Aggies (7-2) travel to No. 19 Gonzaga (7-1) tonight at 9 p.m. (MT) on ESPN.

Back to Albuquerque, New Mexico will be the toughest matchup for the undefeated Bearcats so far.

Cincinnati’s opponents this season have a combined 21-27 record. The Lobos have faced four teams with seven wins, including their lone loss to No. 21 UMass.

The Bearcats shoot 46% from the field. Titus Rubels (11.1 PPG, 6.3 REB) and Justin Jackson (10.7 PPG, 6.3 REB) will also pose threats for New Mexico.

Darren Savino, a former assistant coach under Lobos head coach Fran Fraschilla, returns to the Pit as a member of the Bearcats coaching staff.
