It all started with a cold and a visit to a Roswell hospital.

Four days later, Diana Bachman was taken to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, diagnosed with the H1N1 virus and is in a coma.

Photos of the 25-year-old Bachman show a life in its prime. A newlywed with a loving family, and starting a family of her own.

But in less than a month, things took a dark turn.

Almost a week after Christmas, Bachman was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.

Bachman's stepmother, Melissa Campos, was in disbelief.

"You hear of other people getting it and stuff like that, but it's not supposed to happen to us. Not to our family," Campos said.

The family tried to retrace Bachman's steps to figure out where she could have caught the virus.

Bachman took medication for the virus during her time in a Lubbock hospital and seemed better, but now she has pneumonia and is in a medically induced coma.

Now, her extended family in Roswell waits for her return.

"Want her to open her eye, hug me, and tell me that she wants me back," said cousin Mande Hudson.

The family is asking for prayers.

"Have faith and believe in God that she will get through this," said Campos.

An account has been set up to help Bachman's immediate family stay by her bedside. The account is located at Wells Fargo in the name of Kody Bachman in "Benefit for Diana".
