For many New Mexicans, it’s the perfect place to unwind.
“Oh, it’s great here. It’s so peaceful,” said Tom Gross.
But parts of the Bosque was anything but peaceful Tuesday morning. KOB Eyewitness News 4 was there - in the air and on the ground - as Corrales police search the Bosque for the person, they believe, led Officer Jeremy Romero on a high speed chase, before both Romero and the suspect crashed.
“Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department did dispatch their K-9 units, and lost the scene in I believe the Bosque area,” said Captain Vic Mangiacapra, with the Corrales Police Department.
The suspect is still out there, worrying many people who visit the Bosque.
“Not as good as usual. I’m a little concerned,” added Tom Gross.
Tom and Tanya Gross walk their dog every Tuesday. Before today, they considered the Bosque one of the safest places to go. But their opinion now might change. “Who wants to meet up with anybody that does that?” wondered Tanya Gross.
