Albuquerque's Holly Holm will face Juliana Werner on April 4th at the Route 66 Casino Hotel. The Legacy Fighting Championship's first women's bantamweight title will be on the line.
For Holm (6-0), this will likely be her last fight in the Albuquerque area. Following this bout, Holm's camp is working on climbing up the MMA ladder against some of the best in the sport. Included on that list would be current UFC women's bantamweight champ Rhonda Rousey.
When asked if Holm thought they might meet somewhere down the line, she responded "I hope so. There's so much between now and there. If I'm successful here, here and here and I make these opportunities the best then I can be there and we can make that fight happen."
"Yes, would I like to fight her.. but a lot has to be steps that have to be taken and victories along the way to get to that position so that is my goal."
Holm had nothing but praise for the reigning champ. "She's great at what she does and I think it would be a great fight," said Holm.
"A lot of people might think she's overconfident, but maybe it took that kind of personality and skill set to come in and help bring it to the next level."
