A Santa Fe man is behind bars in connection to a burglary at the state treasurer's office.

State police said forensic evidence left at the scene led officers to arrest 23-year-old James Montoya in El Dorado, N.M.

Officials said Montoya stole laptops, iPads and a flat screen TV from the office early Monday. He faces several charges, including burglary, larceny and criminal damage to property.

Montoya was booked at the Santa Fe County Detention Center on Wednesday.
