Hundreds of letters have flooded a New Mexico post office this month.
Not to be delivered, just to be stamped.
Loving, New Mexico is just south of Carlsbad, and if you ask the people who live here, they’ll say things stay quiet.
But come February, one place in particular gets a whole lot of love.
The Loving Post Office becomes the "Valentine’s Day Station."
It’s received over 750 letters and packages this year just to be post marked by the post office’s exclusive stamp.
"I like to do it on Valentine's Day because it has the special postmark," said Judy Morgan.
Morgan has been bringing her cards here on Valentine’s Day for over two decades.
"Well with my grandkids I've been doing it for almost nine years, and before that I would send them to different people for I don't know 25 years or more," said Morgan. “Even though they're going to be late, when they go out of town they still have the Valentine's post mark on them."
But others have been flowing in for weeks.
The post office said they've received letters from around the country and around the world. Letters from Australia, even Hong Kong, requesting that special stamp.
“People just love it, they don't expect it and they're always surprised," said Tharon Carter-Rosen. “Sometimes I'll make 2 or 3 trips out here just to meet the deadline."
Carter-Rosen said she drove 40 miles for that stamp of love.
“And other people I know have driven further," said Carter-Rosen.
