The Bernalillo County Commission voted Tuesday to pitch in funds to help revitalize the North part of Fourth Street.
County Commissioners voted 5-1, approving the proposal to use $200,000 to purchase and develop property near Fourth and Candelaria. The city is expected to put in more than a million dollars toward the project from Workforce Housing Trust Funds.
The first phase of the project would demolish old buildings and purchase the land. City and county officials will collaborate on new construction and development, including residential housing and commercial development.
The partnership between the city and county is outlined in an Intergovernmental Agreement also approved by the commission on Tuesday.
