A man accused of robbing women in grocery store parking lots was finally caught after police said he used his thumbprint and ID to cash one of the victim's checks.

Albuquerque police say Andre Navarez robbed four women, including a 77 year old, in Walmart and Smith's parking lots across the metro between May and July.

Each victim reported that the suspect drove off in a red vehicle and one was able to write down the license plate number.

Another victim also reported that her credit card had been used at a Foot Locker store. In the surveillance video, officers observed a man, later identified as Navarez, purchase a Chicago Bulls hat.

Several days later, police tracked the suspect's vehicle down and spotted Navarez wearing the same hat from the Foot Locker store.

Police eventually arrested him on Aug. 1 after a U.S. New Mexico Federal Credit Union location made a copy of Navarez's ID and thumbprint when he cashed one of the robbery victim's checks.

Navarez is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
