(WDAM) A cookie surplus is dwindling after the Hattiesburg Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi announced they had too many on hand.
The scouts did not sell all of their cookies during the sale year, leaving thousands of those delicious treats crumbling by their lonesome.
After NBC affiliate WDAM aired a story on Tuesday about the surplus, it wasn't long before phones at the Hattiesburg branch began ringing off the hook.
"We had someone waiting outside at 8 this morning to get some cookies," Traci Spence said.
