Albuquerque police confirm Marcos Delgado, the suspect in a quadruple shooting last Friday, killed himself Tuesday morning after a short chase with officers in northwest Albuquerque.

Around midnight, police heard Delgado was somewhere in the area of 12th and Griegos and dispatched officers to the scene.

Officers reported seeing Delgado exit a vehicle. As they approached him, police said Delgado started shooting at them with a high-powered rifle.

Delgado then ran from police through yards in the neighborhood. Officers soon found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators interviewed a witness who indicated they heard Delgado’s gunshots and then observed Delgado take his own life.

Police say Delgado shot himself with a handgun he was carrying in addition to the rifle.

Detectives are still processing the scene and the weapons to determine if they are connected to the shooting on Friday.

The driver and other passenger in the vehicle have been identified as Rafael Reza, 34, and Josephine Bailey, 52. Reza and Bailey tried to flee from the scene, but police pulled them over after a short chase. Both have been arrested will be charged with harboring a fugitive. Their relation to Delgado is still being investigated.

According to APD spokesman Tanner Tixier, no officers fired their weapons or were hurt in the incident.

Last Friday, authorities said Delgado shot four women outside of an auto detailing shop on Vassar Drive in northeast Albuquerque. Delgado's ex-girlfriend, Anna Vigil, died from her injuries.

One of the other three victims has been released from the hospital and will continue her recovery privately, an APD spokeswoman said Saturday. The conditions of the two other victims have not been released at this time, but they were listed in stable condition on Friday.

Police will hold a press conference Monday afternoon with more details. Stay with KOB Eyewitness News 4 and KOB.com for updates.
