Ramon Saenz, the man who allegedly beat his girlfriend unconscious August 10 in front of their children, was indicted by a Bernalillo County grand jury Wednesday, along with his aunt, Mary Acosta.

Two of Saenz's children left their home and banged on a neighbor's door, then told the neighbor that their "dad was trying to kill their mother."

Saenz allegedly hit his girlfriend in the face until she was bloody and unconscious, then put her limp body into a vehicle with the couple's three children and took them to his aunt's house on Iron St.

According to the district attorney, Saenz made his girlfriend change clothes and wash the blood off herself, while refusing to let her leave or call 911.

Acosta, whose house Saenz allegedly took the family to after the beating, was also indicted for allegedly cleaning up the bloody scene while trying to cover up the beating.

Saenz is charged with kidnapping, aggravated battery, four counts of child abuse, two counts of tampering with evidence and conspiracy, for a total of eleven charges.

Acosta is charged with two counts of tampering with evidence, conspiracy, and kidnapping. She faces five charges in total.

A date for Saenz and Acosta's arraignment in District Court has yet to be set.
